• Text recipients are set up in the Early Notification Group which can be found under ‘Absences’.
  • This group is empty to begin with. Select ‘Add Students’ to populate the group.
  • edge automatically selects the caregiver who has the box ‘Lives with Student’ selected in Student Details.
  • Where there is no recipient selected, this will be due to the ‘Lives with Student’ caregiver not having a number in the mobile phone field of their record.
  • In the screen shot below the student ‘Claire Bryant’ does not have anyone ticked as the EN text recipient because there is no mobile phone number loaded in Student Details.

  • In this instance, check that the caregiver’s mobile phone number has been entered in the mobile phone field. This sounds obvious but some schools put the mobile phone number in the landline field where a person does not have a landline. This is fine but the number should also be added to the mobile phone field as features such as EN are dependent on it.
  • Once the caregiver’s mobile number has been entered, the Early Notification Group will update. See screenshot below.

  • Within the EN Group screen you can change the recipients or opt to have more than one recipient as in the case of a shared care situation. You must remember to click ‘Save’ when you make any changes.
  • Once you are up and running with EN, we recommend that you include setting students and their families up in the EN Group when you enrol new students onto the system.
