User groups can be created manually or based on pre-selected criteria (dynamic groups). You can also derive a new group from an existing user group. Any group can be made self-managing by checking boxes to allow students, staff, or caregivers to opt in or out of the group.
Dynamic groups
Dynamic groups select members automatically based on pre-defined criteria, e.g. Year 4 students. Messages are sent to all users who meet the criteria at the time of sending.
Manual groups
Members of manual groups are individually selected. This type of may be used when members do not share defining criteria, such as a choir group where members may span several year levels.
Derived groups
Use the 'derived group' function to create a group relating to an existing group, such as 'caregivers of senior choir'.
